TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin will join his son's staff for the Tennessee
Volunteers.
Kiffin told reporters Sunday after the Bucs' loss to the Atlanta
Falcons that he told players and his assistant coaches last week of
his decision.
Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden wished Kiffin well on Monday, saying
it was a good decision for the veteran NFL defensive coordinator.
Tennessee officials refused to comment Monday on the
announcement.
The 33-year-old Lane Kiffin was introduced as the Vols' new
coach Dec. 1. He succeeds Phillip Fulmer, who was forced to resign
after 17 years coaching Tennessee.
