COOPER CITY, Florida - (AP) - Authorities say a South Florida woman
got behind the wheel of her minivan and passed out drunk, leaving
her two young children to wander nearly two miles away from their
home barefoot.
Broward Sheriff's Office deputies say the 3-year-old boy and a
4-year-old girl were in the minivan with Brenda Lee Duclos
Wednesday. Investigators say the children wandered off after a
couple of hours. They were uninjured.
Deputies say Duclos was going to pick up her eldest child from
school when she passed out.
She is charged with driving under the influence and child
neglect. She refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test. Duclos was
released on bond Friday, according to the sheriff's Web site.
Duclos' husband, Joseph, said his wife "did a stupid thing."

Where is the DHR investigation?  I guess that was just left out of the story.  Sure she has a husband, but most of the time DHR investigates and then releases the children to the custody of the father.  Wonder what, if anything, happened here.

jwoodyard so true.

Why do we see more “parents” neglecting their children? This country which was founded under under God has lost God. I think we are starting see the product of our Godless society. No love of God = no love for themselves = no love for their children.

sorry even if she does all 12 steps she shouldn’t be allowed to be near those kids. what a horrible mom. why don’t people care about their kids anymore?

He said she did a stupid thing my god he might be as stupid as she is. Hope they do not let her near those children until she has completed all twelve steps. There is no excuse for this behavior.
