People hunting for shells on Pensacola Beach found a little bit more than what they were searching for today. What is believed to be human bones were discovered by folks snorkling around Pensacola Pier around 10:30 a.m. Later, other people brought more bones to lifeguards.
The bones likely were washed ashore by the high surf of Hurricane Gustav.
In all, about half a dozen bones were collected and taken to the medical examiner's office to determine if they are human or animal.
