PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A federal grand jury has indictedsuspended Okaloosa County Sheriff Charlie Morris and his former
office manager on theft, money laundering and conspiracy charges.
Gov. Charlie Crist suspended Morris in February, after federal
authorities arrested the sheriff in Nevada on a Las Vegas gambling
trip. Prosecutors allege Morris and his former office manager,
Teresa Adams, created fictitious bonuses for sheriff's department
employees then pocketed some of the money.
