MILTON, Fla. (AP) - Authorities said a train struck and killed a
28-year-old man while he was fishing off a train tressel.
Santa Rosa County Sheriff's deputies said Thomas Kevin Halls was
fishing Sunday with two other people when an eastbound train
approached at 36 miles per hour. The group tried to get out of the
way, but Halls was struck and thrown into the water.
Hall's fishing buddy jumped into the water after him. A nearby
boater also came to Halls' aid before emergency personnel and a
Life Flight arrived on the scene. Halls died from his injuries
while being transported to the hospital. Halls' friends were not
injured during the incident.
