Her name is Cheryl Cain. She was 29 years old and lived in Cantonment.Investigators say she was the woman found in a dumpster at an abandoned convenience store Wednesday afternoon.
"A maintenance worker, he found the body called us," says Sgt. Ted Roy with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.
Fingerprints were used to identify her. Her purse and identification are missing along with her 1999 white Toyota Camry.
The dumpster that held Cheryl Cain's body was brought to the sheriff's office where investigators are looking to see if it holds the clues that will help them find a killer.
"Instead of going through the evidence there, you know the weather was kind of bad, we ended up taking the whole dumpster and they are processing it now," according to Sgt. Roy.
Cain lived with her parents. They told News Five their daughter graduated from Tate High School. She loved animals and had worked as a vet tech until recently being laid off. She also loved the rodeo, calf roping and barrel racing.
She was friendly, outgoing and maybe too trusting according to her mother.
The last time they saw her was Monday. They tried calling Tuesday but never got an answer. Wednesday night it was sheriff's investigators that told them their daughter would never be coming home.
