WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A West Palm Beach police reportsays a Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy crashed his patrol car
into a palm tree and then failed a sobriety test.
Records show that 38-year-old Christopher M. Gruber was booked early Saturday into the Palm Beach County Jail and was released later on his own recognizance.
Prosecutors say the DUI charge is a misdemeanor.
A sheriff's spokeswoman says Gruber is on administrative leave
with pay. She says Grube was in a field training program and had
called in sick for the day.
His attorney's name wasn't immediately known. A phone listing
under a similar name to Gruber was disconnected.
