Officials dedicated this OV-10, seen in the video to the right on this page, to Lieutenant Peter Fransson Russell. According to a pamphlet at the ceremony Russell was the first “Black Pony” casualty of the Vietnam War. Russell was killed in action. This was his fighter. It was dedicated in the same ceremony where a fighter jet was dedicated to Captain Scott Speicher. Organizers say these projects were a huge collaboration between several Navy groups.
