Dew26M, please read the comment I wrote to you on page 3 or 4. If you are serious about getting visitation with your son. Me and my sons father went through juvenile court in Mobile county. And if I am not mistaking you do not have a lawyer.

children need their fathers presence in their lives too and if you cared you’d go down to the juvenile court and file for visitation.  “she won’t let me see him” is not good enough.  Do not say spending money on a lawyer is not worth it.  Your child is worth it and deserves to know how much you want to be a part of his life.  Show him.  I encourage you to do so.

suzanne45, please do not stereotype all fathers as being losers just because you were foolish enough to bear children by one. Once again, and for the last time I said, I PAY CHILD SUPPORT WITHOUT A COURT ORDER, AND MY SON’S MOTHER DOES NOT LET ME SEE MY CHILD. I did NOT say that I was not gonna pay her any money because she didn’t let me see him. I also tried your idea “then why aren’t all these “fathers” doing everything possible to see their children.” , and it landed me in the METRO JAIL. Once again, I DO NOT need a judge to tell me my responsibility’s as a Daddy and a Father, my parents raised me better than that. Please at least try to read an entire situation before stereotyping anyone else. Just because you had a child by a worthless loser does not mean that all Daddy’s are so. I pay for my son’s medical bills, and dental, and more. I send her 400$ a month, at my own will. No judge had to tell me to do so. According to the DHR WEBSITE ” If an action is filed relating to custody, visitation or any matter other than support, it will be necessary for you to seek private counsel to represent your interests in these issues.”  This is the reason I have not yet filed for joint/split custody. I can not justify spending 1000$ on a lawyer, when that money can put clothes on my son’s back, or food in his mouth!

Hmm.  Well my child’s deadbeat also didn’t show up for court and the judge issued a warrant for failure to appear as well.  If your lawyer isn’t being fair or doing their job, I would file a complaint with the Alabama Bar Association.  Remember…the squeeky wheel gets the grease.  If anything he/she will have to take time out of their day to answer the complaint brought against them.

O and not to mention he has another child with his current wife and she has 2 other kids from previous marriage. She gets her child support. He told me one time “It’s ok I have my kids (current kids) with me.” “I will find them when they are 18.”

Well he didnt show up for court…They threw out all his whatever and raised child support because he doesnt provide insurance and so on for them. It’s all me….He now has a brand new house and 4 vehicles….But calls everyday and wants to talk to them and get them every other weekend.  I hold my end up and he has yet to pay. The attorney that i have hired has not done anything. NOTHING. Now he wants to give his rights up so he doesn’t have to pay monthly or arrearages totalling about 13,000 dollars. Nothing is happenin to him. WHY? Right now I am trying to figure out how to get my money back for this lawyer who has not done NOTHING.

Butterfly—I can’t believe there was no comtempt charge for failure to pay.  In my case, the judge issued a warrant too.

Oh yeah I filed for a increase. He was only paying me $125 a month when him and his wife are buying new cars and a new house. That did not fly to well with me. Now he pays triple that and it comes same time every month =)

I’m sorry.  I know it’s hard.  I’ve been dealing with it for 14 yrs.  I don’t know how they live with themselves.
