what is wrong with people today?? the respect between people for human lives is ridiculous. coming from a single mother, i cant leave my child anywhere without feeling concerned about what is going on while i’m not around. i cant imagine leaving my child by themselves. it’s impossible for this girl to be completely sane! even when my 3 year old and i go to the store SHE will even tell me we cant leave her “baby” at home alone.we have to take that pretend baby to the store as well.even my 3 year old knows you cant leave a baby alone. when people are convicted of crimes like these they should put their pictures up on one of those digital billboards in their county. humility should go with punishment with crimes like these. when someone defenseless is being mistreated such as rape,neglect,child endangerment… it should be an automatic felony. no 1st 2nd or 3rd degrees because in those situations it doesnt take a genius to know right from wrong. you just have to be at least 3 yrs old.

Hey, I don’t mind taking a hit by those who didn’t realize the comment I made was a reversal of thinking on a similar situation to make my point.  The hypocrisy in some comments on here is amusing to watch daily but just as important to point out (IMO) when the chance is given.  I believe this woman should be punished and what she did was horrific. The thug that tried to run over the cop and got his but sicked was wrong for so many to ignore what led up to the incident and thought the story began AT THE END OF THE CHASE. The dying boy running with his mom is in danger because of her beliefs and she has no right (IMO) to allow him to die by thinking that putting him in a steam room to sweat his Hodgkins Lymphoma out with a horseradish rub.
Smason, I’m now convinced that I actually hit my mark spot on.  The mind set seems to be shifting now to a more sensible and realistic way of thinking with the example this woman set with her abuse and I appreciate you making my point noticed.

first of all im a katrina refuge from biloxi mississippi and after the storm i moved to fort walton beach to finish school and thats where i met jennifer i moved back to biloxi in 2007 and i can tell you first hand she has major screws lose i seen this story on my local news channal and i also believe that cnn should do a story about this but what some of you fine ppl don’t know is this is her 2nd kid i do believe her cusin or mother has her first kid i do not think that just cause you give birth to a kid you should be able to do watever you want to them its not civalized so if you believe that she should be able to do this i think you have screws lose too and deserve a beatin just as well as she does. i am so glad that this baby has a 2nd chance at getting a better life cause its not fair to eden (the baby) she deserves to sit in jail a long time any?????? email me .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

I am so thankful for good neighbors. This child was being abused in a way that,if it were a prisoner of war,it would be all over cnn.and a committee would be formed on how not to let this happen again. This child needed to be taken away. I hope they put a diaper on the mother and tie her to an ant bed for a few days.

It’s a tough line to walk. Some think no one should lay a hand on their kids and others think they have every right to do as they like with their chattel.

If you are serious about caring for kids, become foster parents. When I worked for the state, we literally had to BEG people to take in perfectly nice kids. We contracted with group homes as a solution. BTW, there were plenty of protests about them being in the neighborhoods. Care to guess what the hourly rate was on those homes? We asked churches to consider supporting ONE family from each congregation to be dedicated foster parents. With churches on every street corner, you’d think there would be enough to go around? HAH! There are plenty of people who complain and rare ones who step up to the plate.

It wouldn’t be the first and probably not the last but apparently I got close to it.

bobcat- are you referencing the child refusing treatment story or the ever-happening LE debate? Or is this a garbled combination of the two?
