HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) - Authorities in South Florida say they've
finally solved 1981 killing of a little boy whose father later
gained fame as the host of "America's Most Wanted."

Hollywood police said Tuesday that a man long considered the
lead suspect in 6-year-old Adam Walsh's murder has finally been
conclusively linked to the crime.

But it came too late. The accused, a serial killer named Ottis Toole, died in prison more than a decade ago.

Toole had confessed to the killing, but later recanted. He
claimed hundreds of murders, but police determined most of the
confessions were lies. Toole's niece told the boy's father, John
Walsh, her uncle gave a deathbed confession to the crime.

With this, we finally see some sense of justice. I hope Curtis McCoy’s mother experiences justice for the years she searched for her son.

I’m joyful that the Walsh family finally has closure in what has been a very difficult period in their lives. I, as well as many people, have been blessed by the way they, the Walsh family, have worked tirelessly to help other families in a simular situation. I know God has a special place for them waiting in Heaven.

i hope this brings some closure to the walsh family, i agree they turned a horrible personal tragedy into helping others. may God bless and comfort them.

Amen to that…they have suffered enough. John Walsh has done so much to help others in the same situation… I hope he finds peace.

God bless that little boy and the Walsh family.
