The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrested four people after finding 20 kilos of cocaine during two traffic stops.The first traffic stop occurred Wednesday. A K-9 found 4 kilos of cocaine in a tow dolly. Gabriel Beltran and Abraham Alvarez were both arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine. The Sheriff's Office says this is not the first time Beltran and Alvarez have brought cocaine to Okaloosa County.
On Thursday, deputies stopped Jesus Maya for running a stop sign at Bob Sikes Boulevard and Navy Street in Fort Walton Beach. A K-9 found 8 kilos of cocaine in his car. Once they got they car back to the Sheriff's Office, deputies found another 8 kilos of cocaine hidden in a tire.
Deputies served a search warrant on Maya's townhome where they found drug paraphernalia including a kilogram press, packaging materials, cutting agents, and weighing scales. A large sum money was also found in a bedroom. Maya was arrested for trafficking cocaine. His live-in girlfriend, Patricia Aguire, was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
