NEW YORK (AP) - Chrysler LLC has told a bankruptcy court it
plans to eliminate 789 of its dealers - or about 25 percent of them
- across the country as part of its restructuring process.
The automaker has about 3,200 dealers but says that's too many.
It wants to have stronger, more profitable dealers with better
facilities.
Chrysler spokeswoman Kathy Graham says the company will notify
specific dealers before commenting publicly.
The dealers likely will have a right to appeal to get off the
list. The move could have a devastating impact on cities across the
U.S., costing jobs and tax revenue.

Uh, excuse me, did they not just rip the tax payers off for millions of dollars, I am not an accountant but where did the millions go? Who will make Obama squirm and tell us what just happened?

I’m not in the market for a new car, but I was wondering what kind of deals are out there.  Even Toyota is having a very, very bad year, so you would think you could pretty much name your price.

I feel like our new government is trying to give America the biggest snow job in recorded history!  We need some checks & balances back in the system in 2010 in a bad way, or we might just reach a point of no return.

Never Bamabob.  I just can’t figure out why they aren’t making better deals on autos? You would think they would try to get some of them off there lots? I went to buy a new Yukon and we we’re $3,000. off, if i was hurting like they are thats not alot of money?!

Not long ago there was a big debate about the bailout for the auto companies.  Many said that it would be pouring good money after bad and bankruptcy was the best way for these companies to get back on a solid footing.  Others said if that happened thousands of jobs would be lost, yada, yada, yada.

Well, after billions of tax dollars have been spent on these dinosaurs, it looks like bankruptcy is a sure bet and thousands of jobs are already gone along with those billions of tax dollars!  The Gov. of Michigan was on television 24/7 pushing for these bailouts, because of potential job losses.  Looks like GM plans to get out of Michigan after a bankruptcy, so another ideological theory shot to hell along with the tax dollars!!!!!!!

When will we ever learn?
