Child Struck, Killed In Bus Stop Crash

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida - A six-year-old girl has died
after she was hit by a car while walking to a Panhandle bus stop
with her 9-year-old brother.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the children
crossed in front of a woman's car Wednesday morning as they were
trying to cross a Panama City beach road to reach their bus stop.
The girl was pronounced dead at the scene and the boy was taken to
a nearby hospital where he was listed in critical condition but was
alert and responsive.
Officers said the driver has not been charged pending further
investigation of the fatal crash.
Both children attended Hutchinson Beach Elementary School.
Counselors were on hand Wednesday afternoon to talk with students.

OMG, This is a sad sad situation for the parents and the big brother. My prayers go out for this family, students, and friends.

Children are not allowed to stay at home without an adult at those ages, so why should they be allowed to walk to a bus stop without an adult?
I know those parents are going to regret that they couldn’t be bothered with walking or driving their children to the bus stop.
