Brett Favre landed in Hattiesburg Wednesday afternoon amidst rumors he will be traded to Tampa Bay.The Tampa Tribune, which is owned by WKRG News 5's parent company Media General, broke the story this morning. The paper, which has been quoted by ESPN and numerous other media outlets, reported the legendary Packers quarterback should be a Buccaneer by the end of the day.
"I don't want to say (we're) running out of time, but I need to get into a camp somewhere ad get used to the guys as well as the system," Favre said after getting off the plane.
Favre's Mississippi-based agent said a trade, either to Tampa Bay or the New York Jets, might happen as soon as today. Favre sounds like he's accepted the fact that the next time he returns to Lambeau Field, he will not be wearing green and gold.
"Green Bay has just been awesome to me and my family," Favre said "They've got really good players and good coaching. But it's time they move on, one way or the other."
