PENSACOLA, Florida - An Escambia County Judge set bond at a total of $1 million for the Pensacola mother charged in the death of her 18-month-old daughter after the girl was found dead in a trash can.

21-year-old Christian Woods, told Escambia County deputies Monday that the girl had gone missing. The mother said she had gone to Mobile for the weekend, leaving the
girl, her twin sister and a 2-year-old boy home alone. The Sheriff's Office says she left six containers of Jell-O for the children to eat. There was no water or electricity in the home.

Deputies say Woods eventually acknowledged putting Myleahya in the trash can after finding her dead when she finally returned on Monday.

Bond was set at $500,000 for the manslaughter charge and $250,000 for each count of child abuse.

The judge appointed Woods a public defender who said his client will not be able to afford that amount. If Woods is able to come up with the money for bond, she will not be allowed to have any contact with her two surviving children, Mykahla and Jaterius, until the case has been resolved.

The State Attorney's Office says Woods has family in the Pensacola area that could've helped care for the kids. But she never asked for help and prosecutors say family members didn't know what was going on.

Woods will be back in court November 6th.

I pray that she didn’t suffer more than she was already suffering from neglect and hunger. I pray her death was not painful and long! Bless her heart.

Not to mention living in a home without electricity and running water….oh, and being left alone…

Let’s see, I stand a snowball’s chance in “blank” at being an expert witness. Bias and all that,ya know!lol

Haha.  I don’t know the guys over there in FL, but this cat looks about right for what I was picturing.  Tell him you’ll be an expert witness.  In your expert opinion, severe dehydration, starving, and, oh yeah, death, usually points to abuse. How many calories are in jello?  Maybe 10?

Don’t worry, he’s just doing his job. Like it or hate it, the system protects us all by giving everybody a right to a defense. It’s his job to make the state prove their case, and if she did what the media claims, they should have no problem.

I have some experience with these sorts of cases too, but from the other perspective.  Not the prosecution, but as a representative for the children. I have no problem with her getting a fair defense. Go for it. If I was legally involved in the case, I’d be careful to try to stay objective and not make up my mind till I heard all the evidence.  But luckily, I’m not so…

Grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

But hey,lovepeace-since you know all these attorney types-I need to send my billable hours for my professional consultation! smile

Don’t have a clue-but he does look pretty tired and frustrated! Can’t defend guilty, can ya?lol

Who’s that in the picture up top?  Is that your new friend there with the mom, rm?

Who cares if she can come up with it or not? You can’t put a price tag on the life of a child. She should NEVER have contact with her two surviving children again. This isn’t her first time being investigated for neglect,is it?
