CRESTVIEW, Florida -
Investigators with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission removed an unwelcome guest from a Crestview neighborhood. Investigators seized an eleven-foot long, 100 pound Burmese python from a house on East Williams Avenue. The owner of the snake, Lemuel DeJesus, was charged with possession of a reptile of concern without a permit, housing a reptile of concern in an unsafe manner, and resisting arrest. Investigators say several children had access to the dangerous reptile.

"If they're going to have them, they definitely need to have them in a cage, I think," says Orie Heath, who lives nearby.

Heath says the python has gotten out of the house before and slithered through the neighborhood.

"I think it's the same one I've heard of being out around here several times over the last year or so," says Heath.

Wildlife officials removed to python to an undisclosed location. DeJesus could faced a 500 dollar fine and 60 days in jail.
