A man was injured after being shot near a Northwest Florida panhandle apartment complex. Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Michele Nicholson says 41-year-old Michael Lanier was shot at around 545am Tuesday morning. He told police he was walking from his truck to his apartment when a man walked up to him and fired multiple gunshots. The shooting happened at Consul Apartments in the 100 block of northeast Monahan Drive in Fort Walton Beach. Lanier was flown by medical helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
