seektruth, yes her friend died but you see others will take that and run with it. euthanasia will progress. the topic we are posting on right now is a good example. yesterday it was a fetus, then it was a baby allowed to die after birth, tomorrow it will be a unwanted child. she was also a socialst.

Rosepetal, some of her views were kind of scary weren’t they? I know she was a racist too. She thought placing birth control clinics in minority neighborhoods would eliminate minority races, but she spoke out against Hitler. Seems, she wanted it both ways. She did do some good though, she brought attention to the need to educate women about reproductivity and access to birth control.

SouthernCharm, you are right, Life is Beautiful. I have two daughters myself. Just want you ALL to know that I respect all your opinions and views, no matter gruff I may sound sometimes!! I’ve noticed that I see the same people on here all the time, with the exception of those who come to comment just because they have a direct connection to a specific story. This shows that you all care about OUR community. And regardless of what we all think, at least we are thinking (which says alot). . . alot of people adopt the views and opinions of other people without ever analyzing it for themselves. I wish more people people would engage themselves in these types of forums. Often, I read people’s comments and it really shows me a new perspective I haven’t thought about before. . . . saying all that…..I’m still pro-choice

seekthetruth, you have to understand margaret sanger the founder of planned parenthood. she wanted to create a perfect race. Like many progressive reformers of her generation, Sanger was a proponent of eugenics, a social philosophy which claims that human hereditary traits can be improved through social intervention. Methods of social intervention (targeted at those seen as “genetically unfit”) advocated by eugenicists have included selective breeding, sterilization and euthanasia. In “A Plan for Peace” (1932), for example, Sanger argued for:

A stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is already tainted or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.[19]

Which is unlike the Democratic Party bringing up abortion, homosexuality, and race, but yet they still get votes…..Hmmm both use volatile issues to get votes, both use their own agenda to get votes, and both use distorted facts and skewed perceptions to get votes.  Makes you wander why some people still keep trying to make the other look bad, doesn’t it?

No, seektruth, that is not what I said at all.  I think that if a woman gets pregnant, she should raise her child or adopt it out to a family who can’t have one.  I do not think that she should abort the baby just because she wanted to have her few moments of pleasure and didn’t care enough to at least protect herself. 

You didn’t ask but I will say that I believe the old fashion way: you shouldn’t have sex unless you are married.  It’s not easy but it can be done.  I was a virgin when I married at 22; my mother was a virgin when she married at 21. I have been married to the same man for close to 25 years and I haven’t been sleeping around.  We have three lovely children—one daughter over 20 who is unmarried and still a virgin.  Oh, and yes, my children whined some but I do, too, and I’m almost 50 years old!

My point is:  There is more to life than self-gratification and selfish living—and it’s a beautiful life. This concludes my comments on the subject.

What about Fathers who abandon their living children . . . . .we don’t outlaw this do we??? Once again, protecting the unborn while we ignore the living….. Regardless your view on this, don’t you realize the abortion issue is a platform used by republican politicians to win presidential votes? They get you all caught up in abortion and homosexuality . . . which the supreme courts have already left up to the states to decide.

Funny that you keep assuming that I am a female. I never indicated one way or the other. That’s the problem with assuming, one usually turns out wrong. Just like your assumption on when the actual moment is that we turned into a baby…just a decision you have made with nothing to back it except your ignorance.
The issue boils down to, not whether they are a baby, or an embryo, or a fetus, or a cell..all of those are alive. The issue is simple. Some people have no problem with (for whatever reason they have rationalized or appeased their conscience, or lack of, with) murdering a defenseless human being. Whether that entails cutting them limb for limb,or decapitating, or vacuuming the life out of another human being.
And by you being able to sleep well with that just demostrates the lack of conscience and moral foundation & the lack of understanding/appreciation you have of the human race in general. What’s sadder than that is you don’t even know it.
