CLERMONT, Fla. (AP) - A Clermont man is lucky Sprint offers an
unlimited text messaging plan.
Brad Cox's 14-year-old daughter, Emilee, sent or received more
than 35,000 messages a month twice in the past year. Cox called the
Orlando Sentinel to report his daughter's excessive texting after
reading an article on the Web about a California girl who topped
14,000 in a month.
Emilee's highest month was June, when she tallied 35,463
messages, or about 1,182 a day. She attributed the spike to
constantly trading text messages with friends while she was at
cheerleading camp.
A spokeswoman for Sprint confirmed the number of messages. Cox
says as long as his daughter continues to get good grades, he
doesn't have a problem with her texting.

westntiff, that is why they have facebook, so you can look them up. they are there for the world to see. if not there would be a lockout on the page. get e grip dude

I read something about a girl named Lindsay Lohan, so I picked up a magazine, PUBLISHED TO THE PUBLIC, (like a myspace page), and looked at pictures and read an article. That’s not stalking. That’s gaining knowledge that is readily available as public information.

Stalker would be anyone that doesnt know this girl, reads her name and pulls up her myspace page… to look at her pictures?!?  Well, yes, I consider that stalking, especially if this is someone you do not know.

More than 35,000 text messages is normal communication? Sounds like you’re the one out of touch. Also, how does someone fit a stalker profile just by looking at a myspace page?

KxV.

First of all you are completely out of touch with today’s reality of communication.  Also, quite stalkerish to find her on myspace? who is worse…???

Ohh, and her myspace shows her making out with a guy????

“Cox called the Orlando Sentinel to report his daughter’s excessive texting after reading an article on the Web about a California girl who topped 14,000 in a month.”

Why is he PROUD of his daughter’s inability to make real human contact???

Why does a 14 year old have a cellphone (for over a year now!)?

I guess that is why they have the Ozzy Osbourne commercial advertising some wireless coverage.  Its because kids nowadays will not know how to speak so they text each other.  This particular commericial Ozzy goes into a coffee shop and orders a coffe and the clerk cannot understand what he is saying so he texts it to the clerk. Then gets in a cab and tells the cab driver where he wants to go, but the cab driver cannot understand him so he has to text that too.

I thought it was ridiculous one day about three years ago when I went into What-A-Burger, the computer was down and so the teenager could not give me change back.  He had to use a calculator.  Well, this texting has now brought a generation of idiots on this earth.  No one can spell or add/subtract without a machine.

Carpel tunnel syndrome of the thumbs. And when we get socialized health care, “We The People” will be responsible too provide medical to repair the poor babies little problems.

The sad part here that everyone seems to be overlooking, is that this girl’s father is proud of this.
