TALAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Officials have confirmed 18 more casesof swine flu in Florida, bringing the total to 23.
The Florida Department of Health said Friday that the new cases
were in Hillsborough, Clay, Okeechobee, Indian River, Alachua,
Seminole, Pinellas, Dade and Broward counties. The youngest person
infected with the virus is 3.
There are 18 probable cases of swine flu in the state.
Department of Health labs in the state have received testing
supplies from the Centers for Disease Control, which allowed
officials to confirm cases faster and clear a backlog of samples.
Florida already had five confirmed cases in Lee, Broward, Orange
and Pinellas counties.
