DEERFIELD BEACH, Florida - (AP) - Authorities in Florida say a 15-year-old was burned over three-quarters of his body after other teens doused him in flammable liquid and set him on fire.
The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating whether the attack
stemmed from the teen stopping the attempted theft of his father's
bicycle a day earlier.
Michael Brewer was hospitalized with severe burns. Three
juveniles were in custody in connection with Monday afternoon's
attack at a Deerfield Beach apartment complex but their names and
ages were not released.
Brewer's brother-in-law, Danny Martinez tells the Sun-Sentinel
he's in serious condition but doing OK.
Sheriff's spokesman Jim Leljedal says Brewer was burned over
much of his body, especially his torso and arms.

we dont want another jeffrey dommer do we? well keeping these thugs in prison and trying them as adults would prevent just that. has anyone talked these parents of these brats? there is some serious mental issues here. they definately DO NOT deserve a break and put on probation or some slap on the wrist. these brats tried to kill this kid. i mean what did they think would happen? minor injuries? come on . they knew what they were doing and they knew the severity of it.LOCK UM UP THEY DONT DESERVE ANY BREAKS.

I just saw these criminals on the news and not only should they be charged as adults, but it appears they could be charged with a hate crime!

This kid is going to have scars both physically and mentally for the rest of his life. I say if justice was fair as long as he has those scars that’s how long they should be in jail…A LIFETIME!

What I want to know is why these animals are not being charges as adults. That is what I read. These are not kids making mistakes—they are thugs who need to be locked up (several hours from home) for at least 30 years.

I believe some consideration should be given because of their ages but a hard taught lesson is still deserved by the would be thugs and wanna be gangsters.

Is this really what everything is coming to in this world? Kids being and behaving worse than knwn criminals…. and for what? revenge…they should be tried as adults though they are juveniles!
