FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Police say they are charging a
12-year-old Florida girl who took her dad's car on a joy ride with
grand theft auto after the girl's dad asked them to charge her.
Police tried to stop the girl Monday around 10:30 p.m. after
they saw her driving her dad's yellow Nissan without the headlights
on. She took the car while her father was visiting her 19-month-old
sibling at a hospital. After evading officers she hit a police car
near the hospital.
Plantation police detective Robert Rettig says the girl's father
asked to press charges because it is the second time the girl has
driven off in the car. No one was hurt during the incident.

You’d think after the first time, he’d quit leaving the keys around!

Either way, good job on pressing charges, hopefully her stay in juvenile hall won’t make her think she’s even “cooler” than she obviously already thinks that she is!

Good for him! More parents need to do like this one and make their children face up to what they have done.
