Some people in Mobile are hoping for good economic news in the future and believe there's a good reason to party.
A real estate company held what it called a $10,000 stimulus party Friday night for fellow realtors and everyone hit by the economy.
Joshua Tanner with Oracle Real Estate said, "We wanted local businesses to get their names out there, especially to the professional real estate community."
Companies donated cash and prizes as stimulus gifts that some lucky party-goers could win.
Leighton Dees with Oracle Real Estate said they wanted to "give a bunch of cash and prizes away that everybody around us donated and get them some exposure at the same time and maybe get them some business, too, and start bringing us back up. "
Instead of giving people regular tickets with numbers to see if they won, organizers tried something different.
They gave out mini social security cards.
What did people here think about their businesses and the future?
Heather Gray with Roberts Brothers, Incorporated real estate said, "We're just at a bad time right now and everything is going to pick up and everything is going to be fine."
Millie Sue Hawk with Welcome Friends Newcomer Greeting Service said, "It is a little slower than usual, actually because not that many people are moving around right now, but they'll be moving in the summertime."
Dr. Michelle Kerr with Chiropractic Life Center said, "Our office is still seeing a lot of growth. We're doing really well."
And Shaquanah Lane, a teacher at Prichard Preparatory School said, "I'm the type of person where I realize that things have to get worse before they get better, so I'm looking for good to come out of all of this. I know there's good coming."
