TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida Power & Light Co. customers
will see a small decrease in their bills starting next year.
The total monthly bill for 1,000 kilowatt hours, a bit less than
average, will drop by $1.57 starting in January.
That's after Florida's Public Service Commission on Tuesday
approved a small fuel adjustment rate cut.
FPL, the state's largest electric utility, asked for the
reduction due to falling fuel prices.
If prices should go up during 2009, though, the rate may be
increased later in the year. The company also is seeking an
increase in its base rate that would boost total bills by 6 to 9
percent in 2010.
