Obama Lays Out His Plan To Revive Economy

Economy Technology He calls it the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan" and it includes plans for alternative energy improving medical records and expanding technology to rural areas of the U.S.

President-elect Barack Obama is spelling out
the key elements of an "American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan"
that he is touting to treat a sick economy.
Obama told an audience at George Mason University that the plan
includes a host of programs to revitalize the economy and create
jobs.
In a speech today he outlined his
plans to revive the economy, said he knows that there are a lot of
ideas in Congress on how to spend money, and that many of the
projects are "worthy."
Specifically, he said he wanted to double the production of
alternative energy in the next three years, modernize more than 75
percent of federal buildings and improve medical record-keeping.
He also said Thursday that the initiative includes giving the
country "21st century classrooms," expanding Internet access in
rural areas and investing more in science in research.
President-elect Obama is vowing to keep "earmarks and pet projects" out of an economic recovery
plan.
But he said leaders in both parties need to put the nation's
"urgent needs" ahead their own "narrow interests."
Obama says the goal of his stimulus plan isn't a "slew of new
government programs," but rather a "foundation for long-term
economic growth."

Okay, so every president elect says this. The government needs to be streamlined, and streamlined hard. Nothing will change without a new government process. Maybe the first year government will try to change, but without new laws, nothing will change.
