LOS ANGELES (AP) - "SpongeBob SquarePants" is at risk of being
thrown off Time Warner Cable.
Media giant Viacom says Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and its
16 other channels could go dark for 13 million subscribers just
after midnight if a new fee deal with Time Warner Cable isn't
agreed to.
The impasse would mean "SpongeBob" and other popular shows
like Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show" could be cut off. The
nation's second-largest cable operator primarily serves customers
in New York state, the Carolinas, Ohio, Southern California and
Texas.
A Time Warner Cable executive says Viacom asked for fee
increases of between 22 percent and 36 percent per channel, which
he says could increase customers' cable bills. A Viacom spokeswoman
says the requested increase was in the very low double-digit
percentage range.

I stand corrected, in Mobile you will probably NOT be affected at this time. I myself on the other hand, will NOT have those channels after midnight. We don’t have Time Warner either, but our Cable Company uses their feeds. I’ve been seeing it run across the bottom of my screen every 10 mins, but you’d to be a REAL speed-reader to see what it says! :-(

The deal is between Viacom and Time warner cable. None of use with comcast or mediacom will be affected.

Time Warner is not in the area, but everyone in the area still has some of their channels in their cable line-up. So it will affect a LOT of people. I like Comedy Central, and I can’t think of any Child under the age of 16 that don’t watch Nickelodeon(shhhh I’m over 16 and still watch it). wink

Time Warner cable isn’t even in the Mobile area, nobody here will be affected.

Oh great! Now we’ll have to settle for the mediocre and inferior comedy of the environmentally green and reef friendly “Cellulose Sam”.

Well dang.. Guess I will have to make the 3 hour trip to Mobile to see the moonpie if I can’t watch Spongebob… Money hungry execs!!
