The economy may be experiencing a downside, but for people in the market for a new car, it's a good time to buy one.Short URL: http://wkrg.com/a/21097/
"The number of customers that buy cars as a percentage or total that come in have been lessened, but we see tremendous amount of traffic coming through the door,"Said Shaun Esfahani, owner of Eastern Shore Toyota.
While people are doing more window shopping than buying these days, Toyota of Daphne has been able to lure customers back by offering more rebates."With five thousand additional dollars it makes it very enticing for customers to come out and say you know what I'll come out and take the five thousand, take the savings and really kinda worry about gas prices perhaps later,"Said Esfahani.
Over the summer Toyota of Daphne had a wait list for the fuel efficient Prius. But with a dip in gas prices, they've lowered the sticker price. Esfahani says gas prices have shifted the business from being focused on smaller cars, to medium sized vehicles.
