WASHINGTON (AP) - President George W. Bush is expressing remorse that the global financial crisis has cost jobs and damaged
retirement accounts.
The president told ABC's "World News" in an interview that he will support additional federal intervention, if necessary, to ease
the recession. The interview will air Monday night.
Bush told the network: "I'm sorry it's happening, of course."
The National Bureau of Economic Research reported on Monday that
the U.S. economy fell into a recession in December 2007.

afternoon carl. that makes sense to me, except i think after 65 they should just waive the taxes or at least the majority of them. i also nominated you for a new holiday- go to the other board under “enough”. back on the coast tomorrow, got the tree man coming.

To me it makes good sense and it’s simple and I like simple.Upon death of the last surviving owner whether disabled or over 65 the taxes have to be paid in order to get a clear title for sale.As it is now a person with property worth a lot can get by paying nothing if they get a declaration of disability. This is things I have heard over the past years on this subject and really can’t provide proof except for the ones I personally know about.

Carl, that’s an interesting idea about the property taxes being exempt until the sale of the home. I am presuming you mean after the death of the elderly or disabled owners? Good idea.

I thought there was an exemption when you are over a certain age in this state. That in addition to your homestead can alleviate a huge portion of your taxes and should. I am sure you put in plenty of money in the community in sales tax.

ok carl, have a good one.

I gotta go and nurse this cold some more, talk to you later Rose.

all i can with me, i would hope the scooter had a safety net and a good seat belt.

If I’m so lucky as to live to 82,I’d probably be in one of those electric scooters, scooting around the court.Watch out Billy gene King here comes Carl in his scooter.I’d probably have to get some of those energizer batteries for the scooter to last a match.

oh my brotherinlaw was not on disablilty, he was 82 very active until the last year. shocked me when he died. he played tennis all the time. i would need oxygen by the time i reached the net.

no, carl at the time my brother inlaw who is now deceased, had a good retirement and social security they got to claim it. so i would call them up and ask. i would also check with a cpa. i am going to tomorrow. got to go anyway. i can email my sisterinlaw and ask her to explain it to me again. sometimes i am really slow.
