Bring your family and friends and join the Alabama Hiking Trail Society on the trails of Blakeley Historic State Park June 7 from 9am to Noon for National Trails Day - a celebration of our nations foot trails. Director of the park JoAnn Flirt will give a talk about the history of the park from Native Americans who called the area home over 1500 years ago to the last major battle of the Civil War. Then we'll take a hike along the trail to the battlefield through beautiful wetlands. Following the hike we'll learn about Leave No Trace, a method of protecting our environment both on the trail and at home. There will be free hot dogs and drinks. Admission to the park is $3.
