(CBS/AP) It looks like Kanye West has finally given a personal apology to Taylor Swift.
Representatives from "The View" say West called the country sensation after her appearance on Tuesday's show. During the broadcast, the 19-year-old singer said West had yet to contact her to apologize for hijacking her acceptance speech on the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
The 19-year-old country star sat down with the women on "The View" Tuesday and spoke about what was running through her mind during that night, when, after winning the Best Female Video award, West took the microphone from her and announced to the audience that Beyonce should have received the award instead.
"I think my overall thought process went something like, 'Wow, I can't believe I won. This is awesome. Don't trip and fall, I'm going to get to thank the fans, this is so cool. Oh, Kanye West is here. Cool haircut. What are you doing there?'" she told "The View" hosts, including guest co-host Kate Gosselin. "And then, 'Ouch,' and then, 'I guess I'm not going to get to thank the fans.'"
West has since apologized on his blog, and said on the "Jay Leno Show" that what he did was "rude" and he'd like to apologize to her in person. But Swift said that while she's willing to meet with him, he had't made contact yet.
"He has not personally reached out or anything but if he wanted to say hi [I would]," she said.
After Swift's comments, West called her and the two spoke, according to a statement from "The View."
"After the show he spoke personally to the country music superstar via telephone and has apologized to the 19-year-old singer. She has accepted Mr. West's apology. The contents of the phone call are to remain private," it read.
The country singer also said that, though she was "rattled" by the incident, she had to pull herself together in order to later sing live on the show. Later in the telecast, Beyonce invited Swift back up on stage to finish her acceptance speech.

She also said she was thankful for everyone who supported her, from people backstage at the event to fans and fellow artists showing support on Twitter.
"I just never imagined that there were that many people out there looking out for me. So it was really wonderful to see that people were out there defending me, so I didn't have to."
In addition to her new Video Music Award - she's the first country artist to ever win one - Swift also recently received four Country Music Award nominations, one of them the prestigious Entertainer of the Year. She recorded her reaction to receiving the nomination on video, something she told "The View" hosts she does often.

"I video-blog everything all the time," she said. "It's cool if I get something that I feel is 'blog-worthy,' but really I just video things because I want to look back when I'm 80 and think, that was really cool."
Along with her CMA nominations, the young singer shared something else she's looking forward to - moving out on her own.
"I haven't told anyone else this yet," she said. "But I just got my first condo."
