Football is on the way to South Alabama, and the school will also have a marching band to pep up Jag fans! On Thursday, Ward Miller was introduced as the USA Marching Band Director. The new football program is set to play its inaugural game in the Fall of 2009and you can bet the band will be there too!
News 5 spoke with Miller and he says young musicans are already expressing interest in joining.

They just got approval to have a football program and compete in NCAA sanctioned games. The University of South Alabama has the colors of scarlet red and blue (slightly darker than the Carolina blue). Specifically: colors from the industry’s standard color chart (red-186 and blue-280 1/2.) Also, we use white as in, “RED, WHITE and BLUE.” The best cheer I’ve heard is U-S-A. It has a patriotic ring!
