Gun on Baldwin County Campus

A seventh grader at Central Baldwin Middle School in Robertsdale faces expulsion and weapons charges after police say he brought an unloaded gun to school.
No one was hurt and police say no one appeared to be in danger.
A 12 year old in handcuffs. Police Sgt. Rex Bishop says he brought an unloaded firearm to Central Baldwin Middle school. "The student was asked to be patted down and was patted down and the weapon was recovered."
An unloaded, 9 millimeter handgun was found tucked inside the 7th graders waist band. Students reported seeing the gun in a bathroom and told school administrators.
"No one was ever in any danger the students reported the gun was unloaded, they saw it that close," says school spokesman Terry Wilhite.
Parents, like Debbie Rathbone, picking their kids up after school had mixed reactions. "It's kind of scary not sure what happened what went on today."
"To me," says parent Lisa Thomas, "it was no big, kids are going to do crazy things. I mean you're going to have that."
This is the first time a gun has been reported on the campus of the middle school. The unidentified student faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon and expulsion from any public school in Alabama for at least a year.
