Well...realistically, I doubt it will ever stop. This has been happening since the begining of recorded history. But, throughout the years, it has become more and more frequent and the punishment has become less and less severe. Research punishment for crimes throughout history...and then take it a step further and cross reference that to different cultures. We call ourselves “civilized” but I am not so sure. Our idea is that the punishment will be more rehabilitative rather than extreme or barbaric. However, with that thinking, the playing field is no longer level, and the criminal gains the advantage. For instance, in certain cultures, they would remove your finger for stealing...the second offense, it was your hand...and so on. Criminals who molested or raped were made a public spectacle and were given punishment as the village saw fit. These methods were barbaric, yes...but EXTREMELY effective. Uncivilized? Perhaps, but then, is our civilization really that civilized?

my heart goes to the families. we must stop allowing this to happen when these men are caught
give them the strongest punishment allowed. only when we get serious will this type of crime stop.

It seems as though crimes such as these are happening more and more each day.  I hate to see that two black men felt the need to rob a WOMAN in a convenience store and when they were threatened, the only thing they could think of was to shoot the person who walked through the door.  This is pitiful…
