RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Suspended NFL star Michael Vick will head
back to a Kansas prison after a judge rejected an effort to keep
him in Virginia to work on a new bankruptcy plan.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Frank Santoro denied a motion Tuesday to
require Vick's attendance at an April 28 status hearing. Vick's
lawyers had hoped such an order would prompt federal authorities to
leave him at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail until then so they
could work with him on the new plan.
Vick will be returned to the federal penitentiary in
Leavenworth, Kansas, until he is released to home confinement late
next month.
Vick is serving a 23-month sentence for a dogfighting
conspiracy. Santoro rejected his bankruptcy plan Friday.
