To Bad Casey Anthony is not as Passionate of a Mother as you ,but well that is another story and i dont think i am even suppose to talk off subject. So just to stay on track with this story,Hearing so often that this act Happens so often saddens me.Oh and i would like to clear up something i had said earlier I am not Blaming Single mothers the ones i know try so hard,But I believe that Children do get a balance between the mother and Father ,thats why moms always say “Wait til your Father gets home"thats where the sturn hand of a father comes in .Mom gives that more Loving gentle side to us.Yet some moms can be very stern also and some Fathers can be very Gentle and Loving ,but he can’t bake cookies as well.lol

Thank you Paul R.  I guess I am very passionate about my children but I have seen too many lost to their own devices.  Some from car accidents as a result of speed and/or alcohol.  Others to jail for committing crimes that started out small and continued to esculate until they are now in the state pen.  There is no economical divide either, it happens to wealthy educated children and to children from the other side of the tracks.  It is all about responsibility and children are PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY.

Well said Mustyouknow I applaud you. That is not sarcasm either.

though he is not perfect I am not afraid to punish him when he breaks the rules.  I have many parents tell me/ my husband/ and even my 18 year old that I shouldn’t tell him what to do and that he is 18 and I should let him grow up.  Well let me just tell you 18 is only a number and if you are going to live in my house and/or I am going to help support you in anyway, then you will answer to me and I will know where you are, who you are with and what you are doing!  I am not perfect by any means but I do try and if more would try to be more involved with their children then MAYBE JUST MAYBE some of this cycle could be broken.  Children are gifts from God and we should treat them as such and be thankful everyday that we have them.  Remember tomorrow is not promised and children are not a burden but a blessing.  Again, JMO

Wait4Me:  You hit the nail on the head!!!  Parent do not parent anymore, at least not the majority of them.  Furthermore, it does not matter if the parents are educated professionals or high school drop outs living off the government.  People have become more and more “self Involved” and more concerned about their IMMEDIATE need or want and how to get it and children are often either trophies to brag about or just plain in the way.  Either way too many children are turn key children who are left to fend for themselves and as a result, some make bad decisions and get in trouble with the law or get themselves hurt or killed or the like.  I do without a lot to be home with my son.  I worked for a high profile attorney when my eldest was in grade school and jr high and I regret the time I missed with him.  Though he often resist me now, I am involved in everything he does, even though he is 18.  He still has a curfew, he still knows I could show up anytime/anywhere and (cont.)

I like you ,Wait4me
That is absolutely True ,If Parents stayed together and was good role models for their children we would have very little problems but sadly there is to many single mothers who believe they can handle it all,God designed man and woman diffrent on purpose children get a balance from the two parents. And to many adults worried about partying and acting like kids themselves.Men worried about getting rich and Hooking up with hot chicks ,drinking habits. We have forgotten how important real family values are as a whole.Hopefully one day we will get better but untell then these acts of violence will continue.

Paul- I agree with your assessment of the situation, but at this time we have no other alternative (that society can agree upon) but to use incarceration. as with all programs if counceling was tried and failed, it would be excluded for all other criminals due to the fact that ONE person didn’t “make it”.  One thing that society has failed in is parenting, I see more and more kids today getting arrested, and the sad thing is most parents dont even know where/what thier kids are doing most of the time. I believe parents should be held acountable for the actions of thier kids up to a certain age.  If parents were more involved in thier kids lives than maybe we could “nip these things in the bud” before they happen. I have seen parents just let thier kids 6yo-up run amuck in stores and on the streets, and heaven forbid someone mention something the kid was doing the parents are outraged at the fact that you said thier kids were bed or misbehaving. It’s sad for the kids the most, no mentor

Oh and one more thing ,The whole lych mob attitude makes us so much better then this guy.And telling someone in a blog that You are a as_ man after they brought up the subject does not constitute a Battery Charge. The definition of battery is any thing from a touch to a strike. But thanx for warning me anyway someoneilove. If people are so Jelous, that would cause them to hunt me down to Hit me ,well mayby they need some help also.If that is what you was intending.

Wait4me,
Once again my thoughts are misunderstood ,i do not mean to say he does not understand his actions was wrong. Simply i am saying without doing anything to help him cope with what happened to him possibly as a child ,He will only think of better ways in his own mind,to get away with his crimes in the future.Realisticly he will not be “Hung in the center of town “,as a display to discurage others from commiting simular acts of violence. He will one day be released back into our society. After spending years with other crimanals that will not teach him anything good.

I was only comparing it to the way a child reacts to getting beat for a punishment.I was whipped til i bleed as a child for misbehaving ,it did not make me understand ,In my head i was thinking “Damn ,i have got to be sneakier and get away with it"But i never beat my children either.Made me wont to do things diffrent. My Kids are now both teenagers and are very responsible young adults.

Paul R- A child might not know what they did wrong, or let me rephrase, they may not understand what they did was wrong, BUT this young MAN did understand.  At his age I would hope so anyway.  He deserves whatever punishment he recieves. As for the victim I hope she will cope with and be able to get past this horrible part of her life. He may have ben abused as a child, but that still does not give him the right to abuse another.
