Coleman not guilty of murder in the shooting death of Nalder Worthy
three years ago this month.
The verdict was read aloud Thursday after the jury deliberated
two hours.
The 26-year-old Worthy was shot in the head while sitting in the
driver's seat of his car at the Lil' Super on Mississippi 63 in
Moss Point just before midnight on July 16, 2005.
Coleman faces a second murder charge in the shooting death of
Yvette Dott of Moss Point in October 2006. He is one of four people
charged with murder in that case.
The only witness to come forward in the Worthy case was Antonio
Johnson, who is currently serving a five-year term in Rankin County
for possession of crack cocaine and a burglary charge that was
later reduced to trespassing. The defense argued that his testimony
could not be considered trustworthy.
