Authorities say a Jackson police officeris fighting for his life after being shot in the head and stomach.
Officials said Dwayne Collier was in critical condition Monday
at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Jackson Mayor Frank Melton said doctors are optimistic that
Collier will recover.
Collier, a six-year veteran of the Jackson Police Department,
was shot around 11 a.m. during a police pursuit following an armed
robbery at Mississippi Title Loan.
Police said the men stole the officer's patrol car after he was
shot.
The suspects are in custody and being questioned.

I hope that they are able to get together a solid case against this animal and convict / kill him. Even if convicted though....the appeals process could take years. Our system, even though its the best around probably, just is not equipped to deal with people like this...swiftly and justly. Too many lawyers...too many loopholes...not enough common sense. I wish the family well.
