AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - A Lee County judge has ordered a mental
evaluation of the man accused of capital murder in the death of
Auburn University freshman Lauren Burk to decide if he understood
his rights during his arrest.
In a court filing Wednesday, Circuit Judge Jacob A. Walker III
put a hold on the case and ordered an evaluation of Courtney
Lockhart's "competency to stand trial and mental state at the time
of the offense."
The 23-year-old Lockhart of Smiths Station has pleaded not
guilty to three capital murder charges and a robbery charge in the
March 4th shooting death of the 18-year-old Marietta, Georgia
student.
A trial date has not been set.

Such a beautiful girl.

Did he understand his rights during the time of arrest?

WTF does it matter? He understood his rights long before that. He understood that if he killed this girl, he was going to die in prison. WTF does it matter whether or not he “understood” his rights. Hell with him, he has no rights. You have to be human for them to apply.
