Krishmer Bessent was wanted on an assault charge. When an Horry County Police Officer found him just after midnight Monday, Bessent elbowed him in the face in a failed attempt to get away. A struggle ensued during which Bessent grabbed the officer's taser. But he was not able to fire it before backup units arrived and Bessent was arrested.
Both the officer and Bessent were taken to Seacoast Hospital for treatment and released.
The case is still under investigation.
