He is survived by a wife and two young daughters.

Sheriff Charlie Morris says “We are all simply devastated and are rallying around each other to cope with this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families. And I want to express my gratitude to the community for all their offers of support for the Forgione family and this agency.”

Deputy Forgione was shot and killed at 331 Plymouth Avenue in Fort Walton Beach around by a subject inside the home. Forgione entered the house along with other members of the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team. The subject inside, 47-year old Mark Rohlman of Navarre, was shot by officers and died at the scene.

mississippi, you are so right, most of our police officers are the best and get paid very little for the job they do. my sincere deepest sympathy to the family.

The pay our officers receive for the job they do is now where near what they should receive for the dangers they face on a daily basis.  I have known 2 officers killed in the line of duty that were personal friends and there isn’t a day or week goes by that I do not think of them and the family they left behind.  Our courtesy and respect to our men in uniform is the least we can do but next time you see an officer tell him/her Thank You for the job you do.  It is times like these that it makes us appreciate what our officers do day in and day out and believe me they do not do it for the MONEY or the GLORY because most receive little or either, just think what our world would be without the men and women in Law Enforcement......  None of us would be safe to even sleep in our beds at night or go to the grocery store, it is something to think about.

God be with Deputy Forgione’s family, fellow officers and friends. Such a sad thing to happen. But a brave way to live.

My prayers go out to Deputy Forgione’s family and fellow officers.  This was an awful tradegy.  Being the wife of a police officer, I know the dangers they face every day and my heart goes out to all of the police officers who spend their working day protecting the lives of others and to their families.

Yep...bad situation there...They know the guy is nuts and wants to kill them...yet they still must do something about the problem...I wish the Deputys family well and the other Deputys will have some rough times ahead also.

Rest in Peace Deputy Forgione, you will be missed by many.  May God wrap your family in his arms and carry them through this horrible time.  Say a special prayer for our men in uniform and the officers that were with Deputy Forgione this morning, this is a day that will affect them for the rest of their lives.
