A Destin resident who had an indoor marijuana farm at his home was arrested on multiple drug charges Thanksgiving Day. The Destin Fire Department discovered the indoor grow operation following a house fire at 69 Country Club Drive.
The Okaloosa County Multi- Agency Drug Task Force executed a search the same day and charged 39 year old Zachary Shannon Wear with Cultivation of Marijuana, Operating a Structure with Knowledge of the Manufacture of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Investigators found approximately 280 marijuana plants located in a loft above the garage, an adjacent closet, and a downstairs bathroom. They also found grow lights, chemicals associated with the growing process, and equipment to aid the cultivation.
