The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office arrested a Lillian man Monday for allegedly stealing copper wire from a Riveria Utilities substation. Justin Webber was charged with theft of property. A deputy on patrol in the Lillian area spotted Webber climbing to the top of a transformer to get to the copper wire.

"He just cut the fence to get in," says Jason Brown who spent Tuesday repairing the damage caused by the copper wire bandit. "It was a stupid thing to do. He risked his life just to get a few bucks in copper. Real dumb."

"Electricity has no friends," says Brown's partner David Poynter. "You could get yourself killed."

Authorities say Webber could face more charges. Deputies believe Webber could be connected to other thefts involving Riveria Utilities property.
