AHP3436, no i am not missing the point, if it is proven the girl was going a excessive high rate of speed (do not even think if she was racing that alone makes me shutter, not to mention racing takes two lanes, could have met someone coming around that curve and more deaths) she is responsible for those deaths. i am sorry for her stupidity that is one mistake you cant take back.
i do not want the attention to be focused on this girl, but the victims, that are not here to tell their side.  now do you not think the police can tell by skid marks, witness statements, etc. what happened and remember not all of the people in the car were killed.

rosepetal you’re missing the point I was attempting to make.  The accident was not intentional.

Everyone knows that nothing will change what has already happened.  Perhaps it should not be expected for the victims families to see past their grief at this time.

What does sending a 16 year old girl to prison solve in this case?  It doesn’t make anything better for anyone.

I’d say go to court and listen to the actual evidence presented and hold your judgement, but I doubt this will ever see an open court.  It’s far more likely to be heading to a juvenile court.

Had someone intentionally caused an accident like this things would be much different in my mind.  It’s just not the case here.

To answer your questions, no they will never come back, and none of the families will ever be the same, including that of the 16 year old girl.  I would personally reserve a severe punishment for someone who did something intentionally.

AHP3436 , i am sorry but the grave gives no youthful offender considertion, now you think. these people will never come back, the families will never be the same. now how much time is that worth to you.

If ten years isn’t enough, my oh my what would be?  It’s clear that according to you, nothing will satisfy his family.  It was an awful ACCIDENT, and not intentional.  Do you understand the difference?  Everyone knows it doesn’t change the outcome, but there is a very large difference.

The case is likely to be thrown out of court on Tuesday so be prepared for that.  There will be consequences I’m sure, but it will be determined in the proper forum by people with a level head.

She’s probably completed all the jail time she’ll do, and I’d imagine she’ll remember it for the rest of her life.  Probation seems like the best way to go here.

devon’s , nothing can be done to bring these people back, i am so sorry for your loss and your sisters, but with todays justice system. i would be thankful she is going to be tried period.

Does anyone think my sister feels justice will be done for Alex to get a max of 10 yrs!!?? To be 26 at the most and still have time to get married, have kids and live happily ever after?!!! Whatever!! Unless I was in that particular car, I couldn’t say how fast it was going, but Devon’s brother had the speedometer in sight and said it was at that speed at one point time. There were other witnesses to this besides the occupants of the vehicle though.

Innocent until proven guilty!

oh i can understand her family getting her an attorney, but for mr beck to stand up there and say her family has suffered enough is crazy.  they are standing by their daughter good enough. but the ones who died in that crash, their families are standing over their graves. now that is suffering.

DEW26M, she will be looking at more than 6000 for a good attorney in her case. her parents better be looking for a 2nd and 3rd mortgage to pay for a good attorney.

The JUDGE does not determine guilt the JURY does, and she just like anyone else, should want the best she can get. I would sit in jail, and not make bond, to be able to afford the best lawyer I can get, as I have in the past. She best put that $1,000 bond money, with about $4,000 more, and get the best she can. A few months in the Metro is better than a few years in prison ANY DAY.  hmmm
