Escambia County, Florida, Sheriff's Deputies said they've had another report of a man impersonating a police officer.
This time, they said he tried to stop a woman early Wednesday morning on Palafox Street between Nine Mile Road and Flagler Street.
But the intended victim called 911.
Deputies released the 911 tape.
The tape begins with the driver asking, "Did you all catch the guy in the unmarked car?"
The dispatcher answered, "No, ma'am, we have not."
The driver then said, "Oh, okay, because there's one behind me with some lights on."
Deputies said the driver called 911 from a cell phone when she noticed a supposed police car trying to pull her over on Palafox Street.
Sergeant Ted Roy with the Escambia County Sheriff's Office said, "She was passed going in the opposite direction (by) a white Crown Vic. It turned around on her and tried to initiate a traffic stop using some blue and purple lights, what she described, on the dashboard of the car."
Later on the 911 tape, the driver is heard saying, "I told my husband I wasn't going to stop unless I called and made sure somebody was stopping me."
Sergeant Roy said, "You could hear in the background our dispatcher dispatching it out. And as soon as the dispatcher got on the radio, the guy shut off his blue lights and turned off on one of the side roads."
That leads deputies to think the fake cop has a police scanner.
Also on the 911 tape, the dispatcher is heard saying, "Okay, ma'am, what I need you to do is just keep driving."
Then, the driver said, "Don't worry about that."
This and the other incidents are disturbing women driving in Pensacola.
Sara Kimnunen of Gulf Shores said, "I don't go out at night and drive by myself."
Karin Marshall of Pensacola said, "I work at Sacred Heart Hospital and we've been having training, safety training."
And Jennifer Hill of Pensacola added, "We're supposed to be able to trust law enforcement and this kind of undermines that."
Deputies searched for the car, but couldn't find it.
However, the driver was not hurt.
On the 911 tape, the dispatcher asked the driver, "Are you okay?"
The driver said, "Yeah, I'm fine. I wasn't going to stop."
And the dispatcher told her, "You did the right thing. You absolutely did the right thing."
Later, the dispatcher also said, "I wouldn't pull over for anybody right now, not until we find this guy."
This is at least the third incident in the past two weeks of a fake cop driving a white Crown Victoria trying to stop women in Pensacola.
One woman was assaulted.
The fake cop is described as white, about 6 feet tall with black hair and blue eyes, speaking with a New England accent and wearing a uniform.
