(AP) - Pain at the pump has never been so severe. The
national average for retail gasoline prices has hit a record of
nearly $3.23 a gallon, according to the AAA and the Oil Price
Information Service.
The White House says that soaring oil prices are "not going to
be solved overnight" and that "it would be wrong" of President
Bush to promise otherwise.
Presidential spokeswoman Dana Perino said Tuesday on Air Force
One that "there are some things we cannot do." Her comments came
as oil prices rose above $109 a barrel for the first time. They are
up from $87 a barrel in January.

Way to go ASDA! I have one of those green cars too,for a couple of years now,but haven’t found any Ethanol to put in it,not a single drop in the last two or three years and I am talking about from here,in saraland,to north alabama.I think someone doesnt want it widely available yet.Let me guess who.

True, gas prices and many of today’s other problems cannot be solved overnight. However, if our president and administration had done something years ago when we complained about gas going over $2 a gallon, we might not be in as bad of a situation as we are today.

I agree completely! There are some things they cannot do,but there are many more things they can do that they are not doing or are even attempting to do.The oil companies should face a much higher escalation of taxes as their profits rise to fund alternative fuels and other sources of energy.I don’t think everyone has forgotten who kept President bush out of bankruptcy in his own business.Ask your self,Who is getting all that oil from the alaska pipeline and for what price?Where are all the billionaires that made most of their money off the american people in our time of need?We have kids that don’t have food because the parents can’t go to work or have to spend their grocery money on gas to keep a roof over their kids heads.I’m holding out for a hero, but i don’t see one on the horizon yet.
