MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabamians who have used up theirunemployment compensation benefits are getting an extension.
Tom Surtees, director of the Alabama Department of Industrial
Relations, said federal legislation was signed this week extending
benefits for jobless Alabamians for up to 7 weeks.
Surtees said more than 12,000 Alabamians may be eligible.
