kctenac16 I hate to inform you, gas in Canada is far from $1.37 per/gallon. The thing is they use the metric system up here, it’s $1.37 per/liter. Which if you go the math is 5.18 per/gallon. I know this cause I currently reside in Canada. Trust me, people everywhere are complaining about the rising cost of gas. It’s not cheap anywhere, when compared to the average wages in that same area.

look at people in business that depend on feul for trucks,mowers and equipment they have budgets to do there jobs but most of us have to eat it. My daughter is gaduating college in fla and I cant go because of the feul cost has ate up my spare change and backup. So to the people that think a budget is the perfect way to handle money you must have alot of money or dont have any bills.

poling2482, did you not read the story?  This story is about Truckers in Great Britian (another country you might have heard of it also known as England or the United Kingdom) protesting the cost of gas.  I also saw another story about Iceland and there the citizens are protesting because of the rapid increase in the cost of gas.  You need to actually take sometime to read about topics before you just comment to comment.

poling2482, how do you know other countries arent whining about gas, have you lived in any of them? ask canadiens how much there gas prices are. they sent us a report at work today and diesel in canada is $1.37 a gallon compared to $4.42 here in the U.S. no wonder they arent whining. gas in venezuela is $.14 cents a gallon, i wonder how come they arent whining. the only countries complainging about it are the ones getting screwed(the U.S. and UK) id like you to name some of those countries paying 4 a gallon in ‘96, ive never heard of any of them.

I beg to differ with you. I am involved at this time with two young families and trying to help them out. The fathers are working ,not making much,but enough not to qualify for enough food assistance for their two daughters and the parents. After their rents,power bills, and few other small things and I’m not talking about satellite tv or pizzas, each family has about $100 a week for food ,gas,diapers and not to mention auto insurance and other things. I’m talking about young families trying to make it without holding their hands out asking for freebies. Their gas money has just about eaten up all of their grocery money. When you look at another country look at what all they get free and compare it with what doesn’t come free here. $30 or $40 makes a big difference to these kids. These are not the ones I hear whinning and crying. As a matter of fact me and the wife have to go buy one of these little girls a birthday present today so she will have at least one gift, tell me about it.

I know alot of people that live on a budget.  But when you put together a budget and gas is $3 a gallon and then less than 6 months later it is at $4 a gallon it makes a big difference in everyone’s life.  It is not like you started to make more money all of the sudden.  I wish we could switch to something other than petro based fuels but that will not happen because of the way our economy is based.  We are an oil based economy and until we switch to something else the situation will continue like it is.

Please, give me a break. Kids are not going hungry cause of gas prices. If they are going hungry, its there parents fault for mismanging there money. Its all about having a budget and not getting yourself tied down in debt. Four dollars a gallon is not high, get off your horse. Its amazing how other countries have been paying four dollars a gallon since 1996 and we dont hear them whinning. There are plenty of government programs out there where kids wont go hungry, our tax dollars pay for it. I wonder how many people have second jobs and work more than 40 hours a week. This country is lazy at its heart and the government loves us being this way so they can come in and “take care of us”.

i apologize mremann i must have missed those postings. please post some links as to what you are referring to, i’m interested to read them. i believe our government is as crooked and negligent as anyone, i thought you were believing they were responsible for 9/11, thats why i posted that last comment, i guess i misunderstood.
