Prichard police averted an early morning attempt to steal copper from a daycare. Spokesperson Nona Simmons tells News 5 that after police arrived, two suspects fled the scene, but 25-year-old Kevin Lashon Butler was arrested and charged with burglary. Simmons says the suspects were attempting to steal copper from the House Hope Daycare at around 2am Friday. Investigators believe the suspects may be involved in other copper thefts in Prichard. Simmons asks anyone who hasinformation concerning this case or others is asked to contact Prichard Police at 452-7906.
