TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - A Tuscaloosa teenager is dead after
shooting himself while playing a game of Russian roulette.
Tuscaloosa Police Chief Ken Swindle said the 17-year-old male
suffered the fatal gunshot wound Tuesday night while playing the
game. The boy's name was withheld.
Swindle said no foul play was involved.
A similar incident in late February claimed the life of a
15-year-old boy in Northport.

I lost a friend to Russian Roulette several years ago when I was still in high school and he was in college.  He was a gifted person with a great personality and we were all devastated when the news came of his death.  To this day his parents and younger brother have trouble understanding why he was even playing with a gun in the first place most less a game like Russian Roulette.  I have never understood what could make someone put a gun to their head and pull the trigger.  I agree it is a desperate plea for HELP and if someone does this and survives then they NEED HELP QUICKLY.  Again, I do not think that young people today realize how final death really is.  We do not get multiple lives like in video games and there are no more Friday night football games and hanging out with friends.  Death is final and in the instance so untimely.  God Bless this young man’s family and friends during this horrible time.

I hate to say it, but if you are insane enough to hurt yourself, you are more than insane enough to hurt others. This is not a “GAME” rather you win or loose, you still a looser! If you win, that should tell you that you need HELP! It’s just a FAILED suicide attempt!

Are these kids just bored? Why would anyone want to play this “game”? I mean, it’s not a matter of “if” the gun will go off, it is simply a matter of when.
